Cryptocoryne Beckettii

Cryptocoryne beckettii has been
one of the most popular aquaria plants for more than 60
years. This is an amphibious plant and
it grows very well submerged. It is also very adaptive to a wide range of waters though it
prefers a stable environment
which small temporal variations in water chemistry. It is
absolutely most beautiful in groups though very variable
in colors and morphology. It is partly due to variation
within the species but also the water, light and sediment
influence the color of the leaves.
Normally the leaves of
Cryptocorynes grow out from a rosette which is so compact
that the stem between the individual leaves is invisible.
When you buy Cryptocorynes in pots, it is important that
they are not planted in a lump but separated into smaller
portions and preferably planted a few centimeters apart.
